March 2026 update

Taylor Wimpey is has submitted the Reserved Matters application for the site - Land North of Hare Street Road, Buntingford.

The Reserved Matters application has now been submitted to East Herts District Council. The application has now been validated and is available to view and comment on by clicking here and entering the planning application reference number - 3/26/0217/REM

The story so far

Site location plan

In January 2025, East Herts District Council’s Planning Committee resolved to approve a hybrid planning application for the site subject to agreement with the S106 agreement. This included:

  • Full planning permission for a brand-new medical centre, including access and sustainable drainage.

  • Outline planning permission for around 200 new homes, including:

    • 40% affordable housing

    • Self and custom-build homes

    • New open spaces, walking and cycling routes, and supporting infrastructure

The outline application for the housing on Land North of Hare Street Road has now been approved, therefore the principle of developing the site has been accepted by East Herts District Council.

Taylor Wimpey held a public exhibition in June 2025 to display the Reserved Matters proposals to the public and gain feedback. To view the consultation banners displayed at the event, please click here.

Taylor Wimpey has now submitted a Reserved Matters application to East Herts District Council comprising a mix of 214 high-quality new homes, including a provision for 40% affordable housing to help meet local housing need.
